Detroit Lions: Joe Burnett, CB/KR, Central Florida 

The Lions haven’t returned a kick or a punt for a touchdown since 2004, save for a fluke return in 2007 off an onsides kick. Joe Burnett, who took two to the house in 2008, could help in this department, while also providing depth at corner.

Kansas City Chiefs: Kevin Ogletree, WR, Virginia 

Kevin Ogletree is good value here. The Chiefs brought in Bobby Engram, but he’s hardly the long-term solution across from Dwayne Bowe.

Atlanta Falcons: Edwin Williams, C, Maryland 

Todd McClure is skipping offseason workouts and pondering retirement. The Falcons will draft a late-round center as insurance.

Cleveland Browns: Domonique Johnson, CB, Jackson State 

The Browns are hurting for depth at corner behind Eric Wright and Brandon McDonald.

Seattle Seahawks: Anthony Parker, G, Tennessee 

Mike Wahle is old (32 in March) and injury-prone. The Seahawks still haven’t found a true replacement for Steve Hutchinson.

Cincinnati Bengals: Anthony Felder, ILB, California 

Dhani Jones played well in 2008, but the former bow-tie salesman just turned 31. A long-term solution is needed.

 Jacksonville Jaguars: Glen Coffee, RB, Alabama 

Will compete with Chauncey Washington for playing time behind Maurice Jones-Drew.

Miami Dolphins: Jamarca Sanford, SS, Ole Miss 

Obtaining some depth behind Gibril Wilson and Yeremiah Bell wouldn’t hurt.

Green Bay Packers: Mitch King, DE/DT, Iowa 

Adding more 3-4 depth up front is something the Packers must do toward the end of the 2009 nfl draft.

Buffalo Bills: Troy Nolan, S, Arizona State 

The Bills will be looking for safety depth in the final few rounds of the 2009 nfl draft, especially in the wake of Donte Whitner’s recent arrest.

San Francisco 49ers: Mike Wallace, WR, Ole Miss 

Isaac Bruce won’t be around for much longer. Adding a young receiver to the mix wouldn’t hurt.

Denver Broncos: Pannel Egboh, DE, Stanford 

Like the Packers, Denver will be searching for 3-4 depth in the final rounds of the 2009 nfl draft.

Washington Redskins: Ray Feinga, G, BYU 

Right guard Randy Thomas just turned 33. The Redskins will be looking for a possible replacement for the near future.

Green Bay Packers: Mike Goodson, RB, Texas A&M 

Should be able to provide some competition behind Ryan Grant. This seems like a Ted Thompson-like pick, as Mike Goodson is one of the better prospects available.

Houston Texans: Courtney Greene, S, Rutgers 

Could push Dominique Barber in training camp, but he’ll provide solid safety depth.

San Diego Chargers: Vaughn Martin, NT, Western Ontario 

Jamal Williams turns 33 in April, so a successor could be considered in the middle rounds.

Chicago Bears: Kaluka Maiava, OLB, USC 

Hunter Hillenmeyer was benched in favor of Nick Roach late in the year. Can Roach thrive as a full-time strongside linebacker? As Emmitt would say, “That remain to be seened.”

Speaking of Emmitt, Emmitt’s 2009 nfl mock draft is now available.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Greg Toler, CB, St. Pauls 

The Buccaneers are hurting for depth behind Aqib Talib and Ronde Barber. Barber will also need to be replaced soon.

Detroit Lions: Myron Pryor, DT, Kentucky 

The Lions found their under tackle in Round 2. Here, they’ll have to find nose tackle depth and possibly an eventual replacement for Grady Jackson.

New York Jets: Nader Abdallah, DE/DT, Ohio State 

This isn’t a big need, but the Jets could use some help up front in their 3-4 defense.

Philadelphia Eagles: Dallas Reynolds, C, BYU 

The Eagles need someone to push Jamaal Jackson at center. Check. Andy Reid likes drafting linemen. Check. Reid also loves fellow BYU guys. Check. This pick is a match made in some sort of undesirable afterlife.

Philadelphia Eagles: Quinn Johnson, FB, LSU 

The Eagles signed Leonard Weaver, but they gave him a 1-year deal. This team had major fullback problems in 2008, so I’m thinking Andy Reid will spend a late-round selection on a fullback just to make sure everything is resolved here.

St. Louis Rams: Orion Martin, DE, Virginia Tech 

The Rams need a pass-rushing specialist on passing downs. Orion Martin had 13 TFL and 7.5 sacks in 2008.

Pick change; previously Stryker Sulak, DE

Dallas Cowboys: Nathan Brown, QB, Central Arkansas 

Jerry Jones could be looking for a developmental quarterback here; he has nothing behind Tony Romo and Jon Kitna.

Baltimore Ravens: David Buehler, K, USC 

It doesn’t look like Matt Stover will be back with the Ravens. Baltimore will be looking for someone to compete with Steven Hauschka to handle the place-kicking duties in 2009.

New England Patriots: Ian Johnson, RB, Boise State 

Another guy to add to New England’s running back stable. Ian Johnson ran an unofficial 4.3 at the Combine.

New York Giants: Willie VanDeSteeg, DE, Minnesota 

As the Giants have shown in the past, you can never have enough depth on the defensive line.

Pick change; previously Orion Martin, DE

Indianapolis Colts: Mike Teel, QB, Rutgers 

The Colts need to start developing a legitimate quarterback just in case Peyton Manning suffers a Tom Brady-like injury.

Carolina Panthers: Andrew Gardner, OT, Georgia Tech 

More depth for Carolina’s thin front line.

Tennessee Titans: T.J. Conley, P, Idaho 

At age 38, Craig Hentrich needs to be replaced; he had way too many touchbacks (13) and consequently a low inside-20 percentage (31.0).

Arizona Cardinals: Brannan Southerland, FB, Georgia 

The Cardinals need to do better at fullback than Dan “Paperback” Kreider. A punishing blocker like Brannan Southerland could really open up Arizona’s rushing attack.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Frank Summers, FB, UNLV 

The Steelers need a punishing, short-yardage back. Rashard Mendenhall didn’t exactly instill Mike Tomlin with confidence after fumbling multiple times in the preseason.

Tennessee Titans: Davon Drew, TE, East Carolina 

The Titans don’t have many needs, so they’re in position to take the best player available.

Competition for Craig Stevens, who didn’t do anything last year.

New England Patriots: Brit Miller, ILB, Illinois 

I wouldn’t be too surprised if the Patriots obtain two inside linebackers in the 2009 NFL Draft; they need young depth at the position.

Dallas Cowboys: Ra’Shon Harris, DE/DT, Oregon 

Someone to push Igor Olshansky, who really struggled with the Chargers last year.

Cincinnati Bengals: Stephen McGee, QB, Texas A&M 

A developmental quarterback to eventually push Just Turnovers O’Sullivan out of the QB2 spot.
