Ex-Dolphin O.J. McDuffie Wins Millions Injury Lawsuit

nfl team News: Buffalo Bills

A jury has awarded former Dolphins receiver OJ McDuffie Miami range $ 11,500,000 in its lawsuit against a prominent physician on a foot injury career-ending.

Jurors returned the award on Wednesday against Dr. Juan Uribe after a 2 1/2-week trial. Uribe, the former Dolphins team doctor, called the decision a travesty and an appeal is likely.

Lawyers McDuffie called damages fairly compensated for their loss of income.

McDuffie sued for negligence and malpractice in the treatment of foot injury originally suffered in 1999. He reached agreements with several other doctors.

McDuffie played 116 games with the Dolphins from 1993 to 2000. He had 415 receptions for 5.074 touchdowns and 29 yards and returned two punts for TDs.
