Final kick. The NFL wrapped up its regular season with NBC’s Sunday Night Football (16.3 million), while ESPN’s Monday Night Football drew 17 million. For the full season, both set new highs in their current homes: ESPN averaged 14.4 million, up from 11.9 million last year; NBC, 19.4 million, up from 16.6 million. And Fox’s Sugar Bowl (15.5 million Friday) was No. 2 for the week.

•Housewives climbs.  ABC’s Desperate Housewives, revealing the aftermath of the plane crash (Karl, Susan’s ex, died), drew 15.3 million viewers Sunday, its biggest crowd in more than a year. The durable America’s Funniest Home Videos, the original YouTube, claimed 10.2 million, most in three years.

NIELSEN CHARTS: See how last week’s shows stack up

•Ringing it in.  The prime-time portion of ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve (8.2 million) easily outpaced NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly(3.4 million). Both were down a bit compared with last year.

•Honorific.  CBS’ annual Kennedy Center Honors special claimed 9.6 million viewers Tuesday, down from 10.5 million last year.

•Ironclad  Food Network’s Iron Chef America White House special, Super Battle, ate up 4.6 million viewers Sunday, tops on cable for the night, while Worst Cooks in America opened afterward with 3.1 million.

•Less real.  The season premiere of MTV’s reality granddaddy The Real Worldclaimed 1.9 million viewers Wednesday, down from 2.3 million for the cycle that started last January.

•Tons of fun.  The premiere of TLC’s latest reality series, One Big Happy Family, had an ample audience of 1.8 million viewers Tuesday. The opener of VH1’s Secrets of Aspen claimed a weak 500,000 Sunday.

•Blindsided. ABC’s 20/20 special on the real-life family portrayed in the Sandra Bullock film The Blind Side scored an above-average 8 million viewers on a low-wattage Tuesday.
